Our free outdoor Play Area has been designed and built by Timberplay to maximise play value. It sits right in front of our Welcome Building so grown ups can enjoy a coffee on the terrace while the children play.
Our play area has three zones:
- Physical and imaginative play for younger/primary age children.
- Waterplay and a large sand pit that will appeal to all ages (including parents and carers!).
- More challenging climbing and collaborative play for older, bolder young people.
Some equipment is designed to be accessible to wheelchair users.
Timberplay’s philosophy centres on connecting children with nature through sustainable wooden design, open-ended exploration, and inclusive environments. It values sustainably harvested natural materials like larch and robinia timber over plastic or metal to stimulate children’s senses and encourage risk-taking and physical development.
