The theatre is going through a refurbishment and details of its opening date will be revealed soon. In the meantime, the team is producing shows at venues across Oldham.
Gallery Oldham is an art gallery and museum in the heart of Oldham town centre. They have three large exhibition spaces plus a community gallery. They showcase Oldham’s extensive art, social and natural history collections alongside touring work, newly commissioned and contemporary art. In addition they have permanent displays around the building.
Oldham Archives holds thousands of maps, photographs, books and an extensive collection of archives recording the history of the borough. It’s a unique resource that defines what Oldham is today. Did you know our Northern Roots Heritage Champions Gemma, Kiran, Roberta and Matt curated an exhibition at Oldham Archives in 2026? It took visitors on a journey through time across our Northern Roots site, exploring the rich history of Snipe Clough, the Victorian visitor destination Strawberry Gardens, and forgotten places such as Cherry Valley.
Alexandra Park is situated just next door to Northern Roots. It’s a beautiful Grade II listed Victorian public park, which was built by the people of Oldham during the cotton famine sparked by the American Civil War, which prevented the export of raw cotton from America to Oldham.
The Spindles In the heart of Oldham town centre is the recently refurbished indoor shopping centre incorporating the relocated Tommyfield Market featuring independent traders selling fresh food.
The Egyptian Room is Oldham’s premier destination for food, drink and entertainment in the heart of the town centre. Choose from a diverse range of independent food stalls and bars all supported by an entertainment programme featuring live music, DJ nights and special events.
The Fox and Pine is tucked away in Oldham town centre’s independent quarter. The pub has won Best Greater Manchester pub year after year and is known for its selection of Real Ale and Cider.
Summit Up is Oldham’s Indoor Climbing Centre for climbers of all abilities. Covering clip ‘n’ climb, rope climbing and bouldering facilities for novice to advanced climbers. Summit Up features one of the UK’s highest and largest Clip ‘n’ Climb facilities.
Dovestone Reservoir is a popular beauty spot nestled in the Greenfield Valley on the western edge of the Peak District. Enjoy rugged moorland hikes or flat family friendly reservoir strolls keeping your eye out for the local wildlife as you go.

The Oldham and Saddleworth “Whit Weekend” centres on the world-famous Whit Friday Brass Band Contests. Held annually on the Friday of the Whit Bank Holiday weekend, the event sees over 100 bands touring 11 village venues across the borough.
