Join yoga teacher Jane Craggs for a friendly, gentle introduction to yoga, taught mostly from a chair.

Let your mind and body relax as you are guided through calming spine, shoulder, hip, hand and feet movements, carefully designed to improve strength and balance.

Jane will talk you through the benefits of each move, while providing guided breathing practices. You are welcome to book one or more, and each week will offer a slightly different theme and focus.

Week 1: Settling in – Wed 4 Nov

Getting comfortable in the chair. Finding the breath. Simple movements to wake up the body and calm the mind.

Week 2: Spine and shoulders – Wed 11 Nov

Gentle twists, forward and side bends and arm movements to ease the upper body, and releasing what we don’t need to carry.

Week 3: Legs, hips and balance – Wed 18 Nov

Seated and supported standing work for steadiness and strength, and finding steadiness in a busy life.

Week 4: Breath and calm – Wed 25 Nov

Longer breathing practices and slower movement to help the body unwind, helping with clarity.

Week 5: Putting it together – Wed 2 Dec

A full practice that draws on the four weeks, with ideas for continuing at home. Simple enough to pick up if you haven’t attended all other sessions.

These sessions are for those new to yoga and those who find floor-based classes uncomfortable, and can support people living with pain, fatigue, stiffness or a long-term health condition. Every move is completely optional, and we encourage you to relax your mind and listen to your body. You work to what your body can do that day.

Price: We have two ticket options. You must book one ticket per session.

Community – £9 (8 available)

Standard – £12 (8 available)

We offer these tickets on a trust basis. If you’re unsure which to pick, here’s a useful guide.

Community Tickets – For those who may be struggling financially and would not be able to access this event at the Standard Ticket price.

Standard Ticket – You feel comfortable and able to pay without it causing financial strain.
