From fresh salad leaves and edible flowers to cherry tomatoes and climbing beans, our Urban Farm is bursting into life as we approach summer! If you fancy a weekly veg box of high-quality produce grown by our dedicated team using natural, wildlife-friendly methods, please sign up.
For the past 2 years we’ve hosted weekly summertime produce sales, increasing access to locally grown food at affordable prices. Thanks to its popularity, and to our increased growing production, we’re creating a further 4-acres of agroecological urban farm land.
To ensure growth of the farm and access to fresh, healthy veg, this year we’re running a veg box scheme using the Community Supported Agriculture model.
What is a Community Supported Agriculture veg box model?
Community Supported Agriculture is a direct relationship between the farm and the local community.
The farm grows quality produce and cares for the land through wildlife-friendly practices, and this work is financially supported through a membership.
In return, members receive a regular box of fresh, seasonal produce and unique access to the urban farm. Learn more about Community Supported Agriculture here.

Membership Length
We ask you to commit to 10 weeks of veg boxes across the summer, from Thursday 30th July to Thursday 1st October.
Pick Up
Veg boxes cannot be delivered, and must be picked up at the Northern Roots cabin just off Kings Road, OL8 2BJ, between 4pm – 6pm. We have a small free car park adjacent to the farm.
Sizes and Prices
We have 2 sizes of veg boxes – Small and Regular.
We offer a sliding-scale payment system based on trust, fairness, and community support. Members who are able to pay a little more are invited to do so, helping to make veg boxes more affordable for those who may need to pay less.
Together, this approach helps ensure everyone can access fresh, locally grown food, regardless of income.

How do I buy my weekly veg boxes?
We use the Ooooby platform to manage payments. This is a trusted platform used by many veg box schemes across the UK.
We ask that members pay the full 10-weeks upfront plus the membership fee, which ensures your money goes directly into the urban farm and growing your veg. Depending when you purchase, there will be a few weeks wait until you can collect your first veg box on Thursday 30th July. We will send you updates on how the farm is doing and stay in touch throughout this time.
You can buy optional add on such as honey and mushrooms throughout the 10 weeks, when items are available. We will let you know via email when extra items are available to purchase.
