ROOTED: A Heritage Wellbeing Walk at Northern Roots

Thursday 4th September, 2-4pm

Take a journey through history like never before, with Steph Wild, our Natural Health Service Lead.

From vanished mills and Vikings to botanists and the Beautiful Oldham Society, Northern Roots 160-acre landscape is full of history, stories, and evocative names such as Cherry Valley and Sheepwashes Brook. The landscape holds all of this deep in its bones. On this gentle, guided walk across the Northern Roots site, Steph will encourage you to move, breathe, and connect with both the natural beauty of the landscape and the layers of story and history it contains.

Steph Wild began her career as a touring musician, before transitioning into a role as a freelance creative educator and green wellbeing practitioner. With over 20 years of experience in mental health, Steph has worked as a creative mentor for young offenders, LGBTQ+ youth, and adults with chronic conditions. She is also a trained eco-therapist and spent more than a decade working as a crisis counsellor.

Steph creates experiences that nourish personal growth and wellness through deepened connection and reconnection to nature, with a focus on the relationship between taking care of ourselves, taking care of each other and taking care of the planet.

ROOTED is free but has a limited number of places and must be booked via Eventbrite.
