Interested in learning more about the secret life of insects, nature and conservation?
Join our friendly and knowledgeable Ranger, Simon Ernstons, for ‘Northern Roots Under the Microscope’, a short, guided walk (1-2km) around Northern Roots.
Simon has a MSc in Entomology (the study of insects) and has spent the last decade working in the US, southeast Asia, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, and New Zealand on woodland management, tree health and invasive species.
As part of a small, conversational group, you will explore the Northern Roots site with Simon’s guidance. We’ll touch on topics such as woodland ecology, management of invasive specifies, entomology and biological records, and share practical advice and information as well as fascinating facts. There will be plenty of time to stop and explore and we’ll let nature guide our conversations while encouraging learning from each other.
This informal and informative walk is suitable for adults (18+) and will feature a Q&A at the end. Whether you’re a lifelong learner, want to start a career in conservation or you’re new to the world of nature, everyone is welcome to connect with us and learn.
