Join Master Beekeeper Damson for a two-hour interactive beekeeping experience at Northern Roots in Oldham.
Meet the 250,000 bees we have on site as you climb into a beekeeping suit and get hands on in the hives. Learn about bees and the history of beekeeping, see exactly how honey is made and have all your buzzing bee questions answered.
You’ll see the worker bees bringing in pollen to make honey and storing it in the honeycomb, new bees in the larvae stage, and the Queen bee up close.
You’ll also get to explore the Phase 1 Urban Farm to see the veg we’re growing with the help of these hardworking pollinators.
Damson is the owner of Hive 5 Manchester and has been involved in beekeeping since she was a child. Hive5 is a Northern Roots based business that runs a variety of beekeeping courses, from short beekeeping experiences to six-week beekeeping training. Find out more here.
