Beautiful Birds – Family Thursday

Thursday 28th August, 10:30am – 12:30pm

From Sparrowhawks and Willow Warblers to Woodpeckers and Moorhens, Northern Roots is home to a diverse array of beautiful birds!

Birds face many challenges in the 21st century, especially loss of habitat. Urban green spaces like Northern Roots are vital for birds as they provide food, shelter and nesting habitat for native species, and our summer and winter visitors who pass through.

Come for a short, guided walk with our team, see what birds you can spot, and learn about the birds that call Northern Roots home.

After your walk you will learn how to make and decorate a very simple bird feeder and take home some free birdseed, so you can help look after our beautiful, feathered friends as we move into autumn and winter.

This session is suitable for children aged 5 to 12 and their families. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Tickets cost £3 per child and are free for adults.
