The Northern Roots site is 160 acres of woodland, moorland and meadow in the heart of Oldham, Greater Manchester. With views of the foothills of the Peak District, the site is a tranquil haven for birds, wildlife and humans alike.

Northern Roots is located right next to Oldham’s award-winning Alexandra Park and runs all the way down to Park Bridge Heritage Centre and beyond. The main entry point to the site is at the junction where Kings Road meets Honeywell Lane. There is a small car park and the best post code to use for Sat Nav is OL8 2BJ.

There are currently no toilets or facilities on the site. Facilities in neighbouring Alexandra Park include public toilets, playground and a café.

The site has a mixture of hard surface paths and un-surfaced paths, so isn’t fully accessible to wheelchair users and mobility scooters.

The Northern Roots site is open and accessible to the public seven days a week.

Follow Northern Roots on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for updates. And if you’re out and about on site, please share your photos and tag us in  – we’d love to see them.
